Sir Vince Cable is an economist working on geo-economics from the London School of Economics, the University of Nottingham and partner universities in Ningbo and Shenzhen. He served as UK Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills from 2010 to 2015 and led the Liberal Democrats from 2017 to 2019. Before entering Parliament he was chief economist at Shell. His latest book, Eclipsing the West: China, India and the Forging of a New World, examines the shift of economic power to Asia.
